We are pleased to invite you to “EMC Seminar in San Jose,” a seminar which will take place on Monday, November 15th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Elliott Laboratories. The seminar is free to attend and lunch will be provided to participants.
We will be raffling away one iPod Shuffle, so please be sure to join us.
We are honored to have Dr. Takashi Harada with NEC as our guest speaker. He will be presenting “Latest EMC Design Solution for PCB above GHz.”
ABSTRACT:
"Latest EMC Design Solution for PCB above GHz"
Dr. Takashi Harada : NEC Corporation
EMC design above GHz is more complex and difficult because resonance occurs when the wavelength is equal to the size of PCB or
chassis and also the affect of stray capacitance and parasitic inductance increases. This lecture provides key EMC design tips for
PCB above GHz and also EBG (Electromagnetic Band Gap) structures to reduce noise coupling in PCB.
GUEST SPEAKER:
Dr. Takashi Harada
NEC Corporation
He received his M.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Tokyo, Japan in 1983. He received his PhD. from The University of Electro-Communications in 2000. He joined NEC Corporation in 1983 and has been engaged in research on EMC (developing microwave wave absorber, anechoic chamber, shielding material and board design tool for reducing EMI), and Jisso (packaging) technologies. Now, he is a Senior Manager of System Jisso Research Laboratories, NEC Corporation. He is also a Guest Professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology. He is a member of IEEE, IEICE (The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers Society). Japan Institute of Electronics Packaging.
VENDOR SPEAKER:
Yoshi Fukawa
TechDream
Yoshi Fukawa received his B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Tokyo University of Science,
Japan, in 1988. He received a certification of the NARTE EMC Engineer in 2000. He used to be an
EMC committee member of the JEIDA in Japan. He currently is a member of the IEEE Santa Clara
Valley EMC Chapter. He is a founder of TechDream who has been providing EMC total solution carrying
EMC components, EMI simulation softwares and PCB materials in Silicon Valley, US.
