NEC EMIStream User Workshop in Irvine - August 3, 2010
Online Registration

EVENT | AGENDA | REGISTRATION

We are pleased to invite you to “NEC EMIStream Forum in Irvine,” a seminar hosted by NEC which will take place on Tuesday, August 3rd from 12:30 to 4:30 PM at Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. The seminar is free to attend and lunch will be provided to participants.

We are honored to have Ed Nakauchi with G & M Compliance as our guest speaker. He will be presenting “Advances in Grounding, Shielding, Filtering, and Testing/Computer Simulation.” We are also fortunate to have Hiro Yaguchi with NEC from Tokyo Japan to present “Practical EMI Design Solutions to Solve Real-World EMI Problems.” He is the lead developing engineer of EMIStream so this would be a great opportunity to ask him questions about the tool in person.

GUEST SPEAKERS:

Edward Nakauchi
EMI/EMC/EMP/ESD Consultant
G&M Compliance

Mr. Nakauchi has a BSEE and MSEE. He has over forty years experience beginning with analog, power, digital design and then, in the EMI/EMC/EMP and ESD areas. He has written numerous technical papers and magazine articles as well as presented seminars on EMI/EMC/EMP/ESD topics for many companies. Mr. Nakauchi was the primary author of a shielding design guideline for the Army and was an EMI consultant to the Air Force's Space and Missile Command on their COTS program. He has also worked on the CASSPER system that is an innovative correlation analyzer. Some of the projects that he has worked on include the Space Shuttle, Global Positioning Satellite, submarines, Tesla Motors and the B-2 Bomber. He is a NARTE Certified EMC/ESD Engineer with senior membership in the IEEE and is currently a consultant with G&M Compliance.

Recent Advances in Grounding, Shielding, Filtering, and Testing/Computer Simulation
This presentation will discuss the latest advances made in controlling EMI. Design parameters that used to be assumed “okay since we’ve always done it that way” or ignored must now be carefully reconsidered. These higher frequencies demand that new approaches must be considered in layout techniques, components and tools used for solving EMI problems to take into account higher frequency effects.

Hiro Yaguchi
Manager, Design Solution Group
Advanced Technology Solution Division, NEC Informatec Systems, Ltd.

Hiro Yaguchi has a MSEE from Tokyo University of Science. He has been with NEC for almost 20 years and has experience in EMC, power integrity, and signal integrity design. His expertise is EMI suppression and he currently leads EDA tool development at NEC.

Practical EMI Design Solutions to Solve Real-World EMI Problems
Effective EMI control for product design will be presented. The presentation will cover ways to reduce EMI with PCB design based on principle and case studies.
